Caring for our pieces
ÁBBATTE pieces are made to be lived with, to endure over time and age with grace. For that reason, they are easy to care for and can be washed. Simply follow these guidelines:
WASHING
Submerge the piece in cool or lukewarm water, never hot, and keep the temperature constant throughout. Sudden shifts between hot and cold may cause shrinkage.
Use a neutral soap suitable for handwashing, such as Marseille soap. We do not recommend using fabric softener, but if you must, add a few drops only at the rinsing stage.
Do not wring, twist, or squeeze the fabric at any point. To remove excess water, gently press the item between your hands, as if shaping a soft ball, just before laying it out to dry.
It is essential to dry pieces flat, never hanging vertically, as the weight of wet fabric can cause distortion.
In the case of cushions, always remove the inner filling with great care to avoid straining the zip. Rugs may also be dry cleaned.
IRONING
We recommend ironing all pieces after washing, including rugs. Always use a medium heat setting and iron in the vertical direction, which usually follows the warp of the fabric.
HANDLING
All ÁBBATTE pieces, especially larger items, should be repositioned gently and never tugged by the edges, as they are entirely handwoven.
