On silence and our time of rest
Silence is one of the most underrated states today. We live in a rush to do, to communicate, to run. Life slips away amidst the noise.
It surprises me that we have so few words to define silence when it is something so profound and full of nuances. There are many types of silence: the shared silence of those who don't need to speak, the contemplative, the meditative, the absent, the nervous silence of someone about to announce something important, the silence that keeps you awake…
Silence, without a doubt, is part of the essence of ÁBBATTE. We value it so much because it helps us understand the why behind what we do and inspires our creativity. Our workshops are located in a forgotten place where we learn to listen to silence. Also, in the depth of silence, our pieces, subtle and without clamour, are created to bring well-being and calm.
Silence is a necessary practice, and that's why we, ÁBBATTE, will be quiet until September. We have many things to share with you in the new season, but first, we are going on vacation.
I hope you find silence these days.
