Hispania Nostra Award For Best Practices In The Conservation Of Cultural And Natural Heritage
On January 25th, 2018, we had the honour of receiving, from Her Majesty Queen Sofía, the Award for Heritage Conservation as a Factor of Economic and Social Development, granted by the prestigious association Hispania Nostra.
ÁBBATTE’s project, titled Rubia tinctorum, which focused on the recovery of traditional textile and dyeing practices, was the winner of this edition.
The jury recognised the project for its contribution to the conservation of both cultural and natural heritage, its commitment to craftsmanship and sustainability, the revival of ancient trades and techniques, the preservation of the Cistercian monastery, and the socio-economic benefits it brings to the local community.
