NATALIS SOLIS INVICTI
Los días cortos del invierno siempre me han parecido un momento muy inspirador, en el que la penumbra nos ofrece tiempo para la reflexión y el sosiego. En estos días la falta de luz nos ayuda a contemplar, no ver. El vislumbrar es muchas veces mejor que ver, así como es mejor el descubrimiento que lo evidente.
Cuando nos acercamos al solsticio de invierno la naturaleza entra en pausa. Muchas plantas parecen rendirse al sueño y la actividad de los animales también se aquieta, para buscar refugio en sus madrigueras. Yo también me resguardo en la mía, con quietud y el disfrute de estar envuelta en una manta, que me ayudan a la introspección.
Pero esta pausa no es baldía. Bajo la tierra, las semillas están preparadas para renacer en primavera. Yo me detengo y echo la vista atrás, observo el camino recorrido y pienso en todo lo que está por venir. La naturaleza, sabia, nos recuerda el valor de parar para reflexionar, tomar conciencia y coger impulso.
Para muchas culturas, como para los celtas, el solsticio de invierno ha sido el día en el que el sol vencía a la oscuridad, un simbolismo que también abrazaron los romanos, Natalis Solis Invicti.
El solsticio es la promesa de que tras el largo invierno volverá la vida.

NATALIS SOLIS INVICTI
The short days of winter have always seemed to me deeply inspiring, where the dim light offers moments of reflection and tranquillity. These days, the lack of brightness helps us contemplate, rather than merely see. Sometimes a glimpse says more than what meets the eye.
As we approach the winter solstice, nature pauses. Many plants seem to surrender to slumber, and the activity of animals quietens as they seek refuge in their burrows. I too retreat into mine, finding stillness and the simple pleasure of being wrapped in a blanket, enhancing my introspection.
Yet this pause is far from idle. Beneath the soil, seeds are preparing to awaken in spring. I stop and look back, reflecting on the path I've travelled and envisioning all that lies ahead. Nature, in its wisdom, reminds us of the value of pausing to reflect, to gain awareness, and to gather strength.
For many cultures, such as the Celts, the winter solstice marked the day when the sun triumphed over darkness—a symbol later embraced by the Romans as Natalis Solis Invicti.
The solstice is a promise that after the long winter life will bloom again.
